A Note for Customers Using a Scanfob Bluetooth Barcode Reader with ScanPower on Android

Due to the high degree of variability between different Android devices, the way any individual Android works with Bluetooth-HID connections is not consistent and therefore exact functionality cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, Serialio typically advises our customers to use SPP mode instead of HID when pairing our Scanfobs with an Android device. Bluetooth-SPP connections are more consistent and offer the ability to use SerialMagic Gears to configure your Scanfob and process data before it is posted into your application.  However, if you are using your Scanfob with the ScanPower app for Android, you must use HID mode. If you have any questions or concerns regarding how Bluetooth-HID scanners work with the ScanPower app, contact the ScanPower developers.
