What’s the difference between 1D and 2D scanners?

Barcodes (sometimes called barcode symbologies) are visual representations of data encoded in a machine-readable format that is recognized by the International Organization for Standards (ISO) and GS1. Barcode symbologies — generally speaking — come in two forms: 1D (one-dimensional) and 2D (two-dimensional). 1D barcodes were the first type of barcode to be standardized and consist of white and black spaces of varying widths that depend on the specific symbology’s standards. 2D barcodes were later introduced as a solution that could store a considerably larger amount of data than one-dimensional barcodes.

What are the modes of the KeyBatch BR2 barcode scanner?

The KeyBatch BR2 is a batch scanner, capable of storing scans wirelessly and sending those scans to a computer once connected via USB. The KeyBatch BR2 can be configured in one of two ways; USB SerialMagic Mode or USB Keyboard Mode. Regardless of mode, you can configure the KeyBatch BR2 to store just the scans, store the scans with a timestamp, and send a CR (carriage return) after each scan. What are control codes?

Control codes are special barcodes used to configure settings and parameters on barcode scanners. Control codes vary by scanner vendor, model, and firmware (so a control code that works on the Scanfob 2006 will not work for the KDC20).
