Mobile Grid Game Check-in Using Student RFID Badges

Pick Your Game Check-in Option From Cloud-In-Hand® Solutions

Pick your option from Cloud-In-Hand® Solutions set. First you can use Stratus-io Time & Attendance, and have history of all games in the cloud. Second, this post talks about the light-weight option using Cloud-In-Hand Mobile Grid app for game check-in. Third, you know both of these options use the same world-class RFID badge readers from Serialio.com. Finally we’ll show how you use the idChamp® NF4x RFID-NFC smart card badge readers for game attendance check-in.

Upload Student Roster For Athletic Game Attendance

First get your athletic game attendance roster in Excel or CSV format. Your file needs only a badge number and a name, you can have more information if you like. Third load your roster to your cloud-in-hand.com (CIH) account supporting Mobile Grid Description Mode. Login to your cloud-in-hand account and select the DATABASE > ITEM view, and select your file. Your first upload you will use “Map data columns” option to tell CIH how to use your data. New game attendance rosters are updated later without mapping as long as data format remains the same.

Now when you upload the file you will see the mapping view, here our roster file has “Badge” and “Name” columns.

Next drag “Scan-Code” to the column with your attendee badge numbers, here “Badge”. Then drag “Description” to the column with your attendee name, here “Name”.

Finally click “Upload” and your file is put on your cloud-in-hand.com for your attendance check-in.

Mobile Grid App Setup For Game Attendance Check-in

First the Cloud-In-Hand Mobile Grid app is loaded to the iPhone(s) and/or iPad(s) used for check-in. Second open Settings, go to GRID MODE SETTING and and select Mobile Grid mode to Description. Third you see dialog showing Description mode is set, tap Open MyData Manager.

Forth tap Download on the MyData Manager view. Then you see the Server databases uploaded to your Cloud-In-Hand® Solutions account. Next select the roster for the game you are going to check-in and tap “Use for Description” when prompted.

Finally you’ll have the roster clearly marked showing Description mode assignment

Note: To update your game attendance roster, simply upload the new file to CIH account and download with Mobile Grid.

Check Game Attendance With Student Badge Using IPhones & iPads

Connect the idChamp® NF4x RFID badge reader to the Mobile Grid app. Note: once connected the idChamp reader remembers the connection, in future just turn on and it connects.

At the end of your game check-in session, use the Upload and you’ll get the attendance file(s) sent as Excel.
