2D Barcode Reader Control Codes

Batch Mode Control Codes

Name Description Link
All Batch Operation Codes This printout includes all of the batch mode operation command codes. The following rows describe what each command code does. Print Code(s)
Store Scans Sets the scanner to store scans without the time stamp.
Store Scans & Time Stamp Sets the scanner to store scans with the time stamp.
Erase Scans Erases all scans currently stored in the scanner's memory.
CR After Scan Appends a carriage return to the end of each scan. This results in each scan on a new line.

Bluetooth Profile Control Codes

Name Description Link
Bluetooth SPP Sets the Bluetooth profile to Bluetooth SPP. This mode is recommended for use with SerialMagic software (i.e. SerialMagic Professional for Windows/Mac and SerialMagic Gears for Android) and Serialio applications for Android (e.g. Cloud-In-Hand® Mobile Grid, iScanBrowser, etc.). Bluetooth HID
Sets the Bluetooth profile to Bluetooth HID. This mode is recommended for use with iOS when you want the scanner to behave like a Bluetooth keyboard (sending the data to the cursor location as plain-text).
Note: Some third party applications for book-selling or Amazon-reselling require you to use your scanner in HID mode. Contact the support for your application (e.g. Profit Bandit) to find out of there are any special requirements.

Bluetooth MFi Sets the Bluetooth profile to Bluetooth MFi. This mode is use with iDevices (e.g. iPhone, iPad, etc.). MFi is Apple's proprietary Bluetooth profile. To learn more about Bluetooth MFi, click here. Print Code(s)

Memorization Control Codes

When to Memorize After Connection Loss Sets the scanner to only memorize scan data when the scanner is disconnected from a host due to the host becoming unreachable (e.g. too far away, etc.) Print Code(s)
When Not Connected Sets the scanner to only memorize scan data when the scanner is not connected to a host (a host can be a Windows PC, Android phone, iPhone, etc.)

Read Mode Control Codes

Category Name Description Link
Read Modes Enable Single-Read Mode Enables single read mode, which means that the scanner will read one barcode at a time. Print Code(s)
Enable Multiple-Read Mode Enables multiple read mode, which means that the scanner will read multiple barcodes before transmitted the data. This printout also includes several "reset time" options (a reset time of 300 MS result in the scanner reading barcodes for 300 milliseconds before sending the data).
Enable Continuous Read Mode Enables continuous read mode, which means that the scanner will read barcodes continuously and transmit them as they are scanned. This mode will result in a shorter battery life, because the laser is always on (i.e. emitting).
Scan Angle Wide Scan Angle Enables wide scan angle mode, which tells the scanner to expect to scan from a wide angle. Print Code(s)
Narrow Scan Angle Enables wide scan angle mode, which tells the scanner to expect to scan from a narrow angle. Print Code(s)
Margin Check Normal Margin Check Resets the margin check defaults. Print Code(s)
No Margin Check Disables checking for margin width. 
1/7 Normal Margin Sets the scanner to expect margins that are 1/7th of the normal margin width.
3/7 Normal Margin Sets the scanner to expect margins that are 3/7th of the normal margin width
All Margin Check Options This printout includes all margin check options, including normal margin check, no margin check, 1/7 normal, 2/7 normal, 3/7 normal, 4/7 normal, 5/7 normal, and 6/7 normal.
Negative Barcodes Enable Positive Barcodes Enables the reading of positive barcodes (this is enabled by default). Print Code(s)

USB Mode Control Codes

Enable USB Communication Enabled USB communication. USB communication is enabled by default on the Scanfob® 2006, 4000, and KeyBatch BR2. Print Code(s)
Disable USB Communication Disables USB communication. Use this code if you want to plug your scanner into a USB port on your computer without the computer recognizing it (useful when wanting to charge-only, but this is often not necessary).
USB SPP Enables USB SPP mode (typically used with SerialMagic Professional in cabled mode). Print Code
USB HID Enables USB HID (the scanner will act like a USB keyboard, inserting the data at the cursor location). Print Code
